As digital fraud surges across the globe, industry leaders are gearing up for a bold new initiative to strengthen digital trust and compliance systems. Sumsub, a global leader in verification and anti-fraud solutions, has announced its inaugural What The Fraud Summit (WTF Summit), set to take place November 19–20, 2025, at Andaz Singapore.
The event, described as “a visionary summit for bold industry dialogue,” aims to unite more than 500 professionals from fintech, crypto, cybersecurity, and compliance sectors. The focus: building collective strategies to combat the global rise in fraud, a challenge that’s being accelerated by artificial intelligence.
Sumsub’s 2025 Global Fraud Index revealed that the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) is now one of the most vulnerable areas in the world, ranking fourth globally behind Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Leading digital economies such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan have all experienced a sharp increase in fraud exposure, signaling what experts call a “fraudemic.”
“Fraud is a global issue that demands collective defense,” said Andrew Sever, Co-founder and CEO of Sumsub. “By launching the WTF Summit in Singapore, we’re calling the industry together to turn urgency into unified action, crafting practical solutions and building resilient strategies for a safer, more trusted digital future.”
The WTF Summit’s impressive lineup includes T Raja Kumar, former President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF); Lawrence Chan, Group CEO of NETS; Dr. Lawrence Wee of IMDA; and senior representatives from Mastercard, UBS, EY, Revolut, Coinbase, and the London Stock Exchange Group.
Speakers will explore four main themes:
- AI & Fraud – Understanding and countering AI-driven scams.
- Digital Identity – Balancing security, accessibility, and compliance.
- Compliance – Adapting to evolving regulations and risk landscapes.
- Fintech – Addressing innovation and financial crime in a borderless economy.
The two-day program kicks off with interactive workshops previously conducted for INTERPOL and other international agencies, offering live simulations and certifications for professionals on the frontlines of fraud prevention.
On the second day, Sumsub plans to unveil new strategic initiatives for Singapore, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and collaboration across the region. For VIP attendees, the experience will culminate with the Official What The Fraud Afterparty on November 20, a high-level networking event supported by Crystal Intelligence and Fireblocks.Tickets and full program details are available at sumsub.com/wtf-summit, and updates are being shared on the WTF Summit LinkedIn page.
